You treat the compensation
For your lack of action
As the action itself
When it simply put tape over
The gaping hole
That sucked out all my good will
As the months dragged on
Exploiting my care patience and compassion
Until I felt resentful
And was no longer capable or willing
To continue this farce
And that’s when
You finally decided it was time
When it was too late
When you had pushed me too far
Taking for granted
That I would just keep on sacrificing
Keep on compensating
For our unwillingness
To stretch outside your comfort zone
To ensure my safety and wellness
