You allowed me
To shoulder the entire burden
Instead of rising to the occasion
To carry your weight
Or just support mine
It came down to a decision
Where you indulged your jealousy
Asserting a difference in our respective ability
When my competency
Is something I cultivated over time
The culmination of choices
At every fork in the road
Doing the right thing
Instead of the easy thing
Like a mountaineer
Throwing the pick axe
Far above my head
To my target destination
Reaching climbing stretching
Growing into the person
I want to be
Driven by integrity ethics Truth and purity
I have no tolerance or respect
For your laziness
Or victim stance
You’d have blood on your hands
Were it not for me
Compensating for you
Constantly
And your self righteousness
Is sickening
Leveraging everything at your disposal
As an excuse a shield
To justify immoral behavior
Your rationale contradicting itself
At different points in time
Doing whatever it takes
To slither out of your responsibility
While I do whatever it takes
To breathe Life into the woman
Whose breathe gave Life to us
