Shit just drags on
Your story
Becomes my story
Your chaos
Becomes my chaos
By default

I Would Be Her Friend

You said she was big
And looked like a man
That there was something
Wrong with her
And that when she danced alone
With her tiara
People felt sorry for her

But I feel sorry
For people whose lives
Are so empty
That they fill them
With speculation
And pity

You said
She’s mentally retarded
That she didn’t fit in
And that she shouldn’t have been there
She sounds spectacular to me
And I would be her friend
I think she’s courageous

Burlap Sack

I foresee the consequences
You don’t
I end up holding the burden
You won’t
I drag you along in flight
like a burlap sack
Full of bricks
The weight tears at my wings
But I know
if I let go of the excess
You will crash and burn
