You think I’m a malcontent
I just see the complexities
The criss-crossing layers
All important all relevant
All essential ingredients
Without which
It lacks depth integrity
And resonance
It takes too much energy
To stay and educate persuade
Awaken you
So I retreat again
To the mountaintop the cave
The shadows
Where I am alone
Craving connection and celebration
But more at peace
Then when I am with you

There is no excuse
For your level of ignorance
In your position of leadership
And yet it’s typical
Standard routine
And I am left in the position
Of picking up the pieces
And cleaning up your mess
Repeatedly
Answering your ignorant questions
Asked in your ignorant ways
Adding insult to injury
Multiplying
While I remain calm gracious and kind
Not pointing out your ignorance
So as to spare you the shame
You might be oblivious anyhow
